Dolores McHenry


Is a member and past president of Pennsylvania Association of Dance Teachers, Inc., Chapter #25, Dance Masters of America, International Teachers of Dance, Inc., and is certified by test to teach all phases of the dance. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Chapter #25 and is chairperson of PADT’s Performing Arts Competition.

In addition to her show business background as a singer/dancer and extensive dance education both locally and in New York, Dolores has taught master classes for several major dance organizations. She has judged many dance competitions and beauty pageants throughout the country in North Carolina, New York, Massachusetts, Virgina, and most recently in Tampa, Florida. Dolores has choreographed dinner theatre productions, for local string bands, and choreographed and performed in a commercial for the Pennsylvania Lottery. In a November edition of the Sunday Inquirer, 2002, Dolores and the studio were featured with a full page writeup and photos. McHenry Dance Centre was named “Best Dance Studio in Delaware County” for 2003 by the News of Delaware County and its readers. Several local dance teachers operating dance studios in our area received their training for many years from “Miss Dolores”. Among them are Debbie Apalucci, Cathy Collins and Marie Mueller. Several former students have gone on to professional careers, most recently, Melissa Vella who was a finalist on the first season of 'So You Think You Can Dance" and went on to tour with R&B vocalist Toni Braxton and Tim Craskey, who danced in LasVegas and on Broadway.
